Robin Newman
Founding Partner & CEO
Robin has spent over 27 years in equity capital markets and equity distribution specialising in Global Emerging Markets. Robin began his career in Singapore in Corporate Finance with Samuel Montagu, before joining WI Carr, spear heading their expansion into the South East Asian markets. During his 13 years at WI Carr, Robin established the Indonesian business in Jakarta, helped establish the research business in Bangkok and Mumbai before heading up their sales business globally out of Hong Kong. Robin moved to Citigroup to help build their new equity division in Asia, starting in Singapore before moving to London in 2004 to head up their Pan Asian and Global Emerging Markets distribution encompassing Asia, Australia, Emerging Europe, Africa and Latin America. Post the acquisition of Lehman in 2008, Robin moved to Barclays, initially in London, then in Singapore, to build their newly created Global Emerging Markets equity business as well as lead their US equity franchise in Europe. Robin’s experience in Asia and the Global Emerging universe provides a powerful global presence for the VTC franchise. Robin has relationships with some of the largest U.S. and Asian institutional and high net worth clients, developed over 25 years of advisory and institutional broking.
John Moore
Founding Partner & Managing Director
John is a City veteran with over 25 years’ experience working as a stockbroker specialising in block transactions and Equity Capital Markets. In 2001 John became a founding partner in Execution Limited, which was sold to Banco Espirato Santo in 2010. John continues to provide consultancy to several high net worth individuals within the UK and Europe alongside the business of The VTC Group. For past five years John has been building a technology transfer practise with very close links to Oxford University, Cambridge University and Imperial College London. John is a founding shareholder and current board member of The VTC Group.
Luke Dyas
Founding Partner
Luke joined VTC Capital in April 2016. Luke has 16 years’ experience in Global and Asian technology investing. He started his career in Asia in 2001 at Lehman Brothers in their technology equity research team in Taipei. In 2003 he moved to CLSA Taiwan to coordinate a regional technology product as well as analyse semiconductor and small cap tech stocks. In 2005 Luke moved to JPMorgan in London, initially in an Asia technology equity sales role and later an expanded global technology remit. In 2011 Luke moved to Barclays to assist in the London Asia Equities build out. At Barclays Luke continued to sell Asian technology equities to European investors and also ran emerging markets corporate access strategy for Europe. Prior to joining VTC, Luke spent a year at Quaero Capital designing and launching a Disruptive Innovation long/short cross sector equity fund, which is currently being seeded. Prior to joining the investment industry, Luke established and managed a PC design and assembly business.
